Your journal, yours
Privacy Policy
folio is a personal coffee journal by Michael Chen. This policy explains how the iOS app handles your information.
Effective September 25, 2026
Your coffee library
Coffee entries, package photos, brew history, recipes, tasting notes, and appearance preferences are stored on your device. folio does not require an account and does not send this library to us or to a folio server. The app has no cloud sync, advertising, analytics, or tracking. Your device’s own backup settings are managed by Apple.
Camera, photos, and on-device processing
If you choose to add a package photo, folio uses the camera or a photo you select from your library. Package text recognition and its suggestions run on your device. A recipe image is saved to your Photos library only when you choose Save Image. You can manage camera and photo permissions in iOS Settings.
Feedback and support
If you choose to contact us from the app, folio opens Apple’s Mail composer so you can review and send the message yourself. The draft includes your note and the folio version, build number, and iOS version. It does not automatically attach your coffees, package photos, or recipes.
If you send the email, we receive your email address, message, and the version details above in our support mailbox. We use your message to respond to and address your request, and do not use it for advertising or sell it. Your email provider and ours handle the message under their own privacy practices. You can request deletion of a support message by emailing folio.coffee.journal@gmail.com.
Your choices
You can edit or delete coffee entries and brew records in folio. Removing the app removes its local library from that device; images you intentionally saved to Photos remain in your Photos library until you delete them there. folio does not have a copy of your local library to retrieve or delete remotely.
